interpretation of "Kaffa Bun". Coffee Arabica was also found in the Harar region.

Ethiopia produces some of the most unique and fascinating coffees in the world. The three main regions are Harrar, Ghimbi, and Sidamo (Yirgacheffe).
Harrar coffees grown on small farms in the Eastern part of the country, are dry-processed, and labeled as longberry (large), shortberry (smaller), or Mocha (peaberry).
Ethiopian Harrar can have a strong dry edge, wine and fruit like taste, acidic, rich aroma and heavy body.
The best Harrars have an intense aroma of blueberries or blackberries. Harrar coffee is almost always used in espresso coffee blends to capture the fine aromatics in the crema.
Washed coffees of Ethiopia include Limu, Ghimbi and Yirgacheffe. The former is more balanced, heavier, and has a longer lasting body than the Harrars. The latter are more mild, fruit like, and aromatic. |
